References & Standards

The assessment criteria, testing standards, and industry references applied across all our testing, repair, and certification activities.

Testing & Inspection Standards

All testing, repair, and certification activities conform to the following domestic and international standards.

TestingAS1271 (2003)

Safety Valves, Other Valves, Liquid Level Gauges and Other Fittings for Boilers and Unfired Pressure Vessels

The primary Australian standard governing the testing of safety valves. Defines the requirements for set pressure testing, reseat pressure, and performance validation of pressure relief devices.

TestingAPI 527 (2020)

Seat Tightness of Pressure Relief Valves

Defines acceptable seat leakage rates for pressure relief valves. Used as the benchmark for leak testing during as-received and final certification testing.

InspectionAPI 576

Inspection of Pressure-Relieving Devices

Covers the inspection, testing, and repair of pressure-relieving devices in petroleum and chemical process service. Provides guidance on the overall service process from receipt through to return.

InspectionAS3788 (2024)

Pressure Equipment: In-Service Inspection

Specifies requirements for the in-service inspection of pressure equipment, including safety valves. Referenced for determining inspection intervals and assessment criteria.

Quality Management

ISO 9001:2015

Quality Management Systems

Our facility operates under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. All testing, repair, and certification activities are performed within this framework to ensure consistent quality and full traceability.

Testing Methods

The following test types are performed as part of our standard service process.

Pressure Testing

Set pressure verification against nameplate or customer-specified values. Performed using calibrated pressure transducers with NATA traceable calibration certificates.

Leak Testing (API 527)

Seat tightness testing to quantify leakage rate against API 527 acceptance criteria. Both bubble and volumetric methods applied depending on valve type and specification.

Backseat Tightness Testing

Verification of backseat seal integrity under full lift conditions. Applied to valves with backseat design features.

Balanced Bellows Leak Testing

Integrity testing of bellows assemblies on balanced bellows safety valves to confirm no perforation or leakage through the bellows element.
